In the beginning of the story of Man, we are presented with the Garden of Eden. The garden was watered (ade) daily by a mist that can be understood as a figure of the Holy Spirit. The eretz (earth, land) was cared with the Holy Spirit and the adamah (ground) was infused with the humidity necessary to sustain life. “And a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground.” (Genesis 2:6)
Adam was mysteriously connected to the land (adamah) because God had made him of that red clay. The root of those words is also the root for red. The red clay of the garden and the red flesh of Adam were meant to be forever connected. The impulse of life, the force of God flowed through man as red blood (dam) also included in the name of Adam and the word for ground. That precious delicate balance was broken by the violence of sin. “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you … (Genesis 3:17) Man, the crown (atarah) of creation fell as a result of sin, rebellion against the order established and sustained by divine wisdom.
Ever since that day, human sin has a negative effect on the very environment where man lives. I think of it sometimes as if the earth could remember the daily caress of the Holy Spirit in the original garden. The land rejects sin as something alien and corrosive. Since the days of Adam, we men have to wallow in our own filth. There is no real home for us, only a struggle to survive in a hostile environment that is turned against us and will inevitably win the battle. Running in our blood along with the remnants of the divine spark of life, death grows stronger as we live our life in the flesh. Sooner or later death wins the battle and man collects the bitter fruit of sin returning to the soil from which he was taken.
We Christians expect a liberation of this awful slavery to death. At the end of man’s self rule, when Christ removes sin and death from the eretz, all will return to its original balance: adam, dam, adamah reversing the path that led us to our present situation.
The crown
If you follow this blog, you may remember a post about Borisov’s comet that passed by our planet last December 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The comet grazed the Sun’s corona on the day of the Holy Innocents, December 28, 2019.
While comet Borisov was visiting us, something was happening in China. We do not know yet how it happened exactly but Steven Mosher, the President of the Population Research Institute has a very strong hypothesis. He presented his conclusions in a recent Life Site Interview explaining how the now infamous Corona Virus escaped the confines of a lab in Wuhan, China and a series of missteps that left to its proliferation all over China and possibly the world. Mr. Mosher completely explains the situation very clearly in that video. I won’t repeat his words here but I would like to glean a few things that are useful to understand this as a spiritual sign rather than as a political or an epidemiology problem.
The word “corona” means “crown” in a number of languages (Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) The virus itself belongs to a family of viruses whose shape resembles a crown.
The appearance of this unique form of virus in China reminded me of Terry Gilliam’s Twelve Monkeys, a movie I saw years ago. In the movie, a man is sent from the future via a time-travel device to obtain samples of a virus that has destroyed/will destroy the human race. At the time the movie was presented, I participated in a discussion where some speculated if that was not a veiled allegory of the impact of Christianity in history. Christianity originated with the 12 Apostles of Christ, hence the title 12 monkeys, in the movie, the number of animals infected with the doomsday virus (that would be Christianity infecting the pagan culture.) As a result the pre-Christian pagan world went underground, so to speak, and Christianity thrived in the surface, owning the planet.
To my surprise, Steven Mosher explains that it is possible that a monkey or monkeys infected with the Corona virus may have been sold for meat to a local butcher. Monkey meat is an expensive delicacy in certain parts of China. A lowly janitor in a lab could considerably boost his income by selling a monkey in the local market. Perhaps someone in charge of cremating the lab animals decided to make a quick buck, unwittingly triggering a viral epidemic.
That is a provoking thought. People in Communist countries are keenly aware of the value of things in the black market. One cannot blame people for trying to improve their lot. Impoverished women in such countries sell themselves to unscrupulous tourists for sexual trysts. Others manage to fish or hunt illegally, poachers abound, etc.
Communist countries can take capitalism out of their political system but can’t take capitalism out of the members of their own population. Perhaps we will never know what caused the Wuhan disaster but this awful accident may be to China what Chernobyl was to the Soviet Union. To every Chernobyl there must be a future Perestroika. But there are more pieces to this puzzle.
The spiritual side
Adam’s fall was not his own idea. The first human rebellion was inspired by the seditious act of a creature from the spiritual realm: the devil. In a world such as Eden, infused by the Spirit of God, all things tend to be ordered to reason and tend to good. In a world like ours, mainly infused by the rebellious spirit of the Father of Lies, there is the opposite tendency to disorder and evil.
Months before Borisov’s Comet crossed our skies, the Catholic Church in China was delivered to the Communist Party. That was preceded in November 2016 by an ominous comment by the current occupant of the Seat of Peter :
“It has been said many times and my response has always been that, if anything, it is the communists who think like Christians. Christ spoke of a society where the poor, the weak and the marginalized have the right to decide. Not demagogues, not Barabbas, but the people, the poor, whether they have faith in a transcendent God or not. It is they who must help to achieve equality and freedom.”
Well, Christ definitely did not speak of “a society where the weak and the marginalized have the right to decide” and I challenge anyone to substantiate that nonsense using either Tradition or Scripture. If there is a society where the poor and the marginalized are brutally silenced and oppressed that is the present Chinese society under Communism but I digress.
The Church in China was delivered to the control of the Communist Party under the terms of an agreement arranged by the now disgraced Cardinal Theodore McCarrick whom many have reasons to consider a KGB infiltrate. Michael Voris from Church Militant reported in one of his video presentations:
“The Communists have been very successful in infiltrating the church. [Theodore] McCarrick was one of their men.”
Contemplate for a minute or two the scenario unfolding before our eyes: A Pope with Communist sympathies, implements a plan hatched by a Cardinal suspected of being a KGB agent, to deliver all the Chinese Catholics faithful to Rome to the largest and most oppressive regime in the planet, a leader in violation of human rights, forceful population control, and the force responsible for millions of abortions.
The last temptation
The events leading to the Crucifixion are important because we know that one day, the Church will have to follow in those very steps all the way to her own Calvary. In John 19:15 we find one important clue:
“We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered.
Pontius Pilate question is answered by “the chief priests” not by the populace. It is the very priestly body that God had created to give prophetic witness about His Messiah the same body that betrays and delivers the Messiah to the temporal powers of this world. Can you see the prophetic type there? Now reflect for a few minutes: Why it was necessary for Christ —a perfectly innocent man— to die on that Calvary cross?
Christ had to die to undo the sin of Adam. The mysterious economy divinely ordained for our salvation demanded an infinite sacrifice for the infinite offense of Adam. The propitiatory victim had to be divine and had to be a man.
Once in Calvary, Christ died a cruel and yet undeserved death. Then a Roman soldier pierced his side causing blood and water to flow from the wound. Blood and water, dam and ade from Jesus’ side spilled on the soil (adamah) of Calvary. “In the Mountain, the LORD will provide …” (Genesis 22:14) It was the beginning of the end for the reign of the devil over mankind. The blood and water of an infinite being began to infuse the eretz, the ground. The unstoppable process of purification began. Only weeks later the Holy Spirit returned and 120 disciples were infused with divine power. In time, the very blood and body of the faithful will be changed and the entire world will be transformed into a Garden of Eden, the greatest victory of our God will pass through us transforming us to be His sons and daughters. What follows is a world free of sin, infused no longer by the hate of the devil but by the ineffable love of God. Through the spilled blood of the Lamb we will all be made into the progeny of God. Adam, ad, and adamah will be ordered again to the Divine Will.
The final battle
In this confusing times, when the enemies have infiltrated the ranks of the Church of the Living God, it is not easy to know what to do. There is no need to fear. Our Commander knows His soldiers and His soldiers know His voice. The Sabaoth is not going to be defeated by the forces of darkness. The good news is: His Kingdom is near. This present confusion is the very sign we have been waiting for!
A minute virus shaped like a crown, a flying luminous stone coming from outside our Solar System, and those awful profanations of the most holy altar of the Church are signs directed at us. This is not the end but the beginning of pangs of distress that we must bear for Him as he bore the pains of the Cross for our salvation. The troubles to come will purify us and prepare us for the world to come.
And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:5)
And never forget that the love of God is directed at you.
‘Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32)

Only a very ignorant, or well educated in the wrong things, or one who —of normal or high intelligence chooses to see such evil as socialism/communism as a good thing, Christ like even. Had Bergoglio not read what numerous popes have said about the evil of socialism, from Pius IX, Leo XIII to St. John Paul II? That man is the anti-pope. Benedict XVI is still the pope!

Forgive me for rambling all over the place but this is big. Now that I think about it, that tiny crown may be the signature of the King of Kings.
