Earlier this week, we broke the news that while CRS continues to claim adherence to the Catholic identity and denies implementing programs contrary to the moral teachings of the Church, one of its own vice-presidents was among the first to engage in a mock-marriage in Maryland. In short, we have a hard time seeing how CRS can be capable of conducting proper internal investigations of its projects when one of its executives so flagrantly derides Catholic teaching.
But here are a few things others are saying about the situation:
Michael Voris at Church Militant TV pointed out that CRS is staffing a same-sex ‘married’ vice president while Bishop Lennon of Cleveland, Ohio is requiring teachers to sign contracts promising to lead lives consistent with Church teaching.
Human Life International told Life Site News that if CRS had maintained adherence to Pope Benedict’s Motu Proprio on Charity, things like this could be avoided. Steve Mosher at Population Research Institute told Life Site News “An organization that touts itself as being Catholic should–of course–hire practicing Catholics in good standing.”
And while Michael Sean Winters at the National Catholic Reporter calls this a “witch hunt,” Catholic News Agency revealed that CRS is “in deliberation” about the situation. Our question is, “If a VP at CRS was moonlighting as an abortionist in his private life, would CRS be ‘deliberating’ on what to do?”
It’s hard to imagine that a Catholic institution that holds its Catholic identity to any degree of importance would spend much time trying to figure out how to handle such a problem as an executive in a same-sex ‘marriage.’ But even harder to imagine is that CRS top brass were completely unaware of the situation until we broke the story. The implication of this is obvious … CRS top brass didn’t see a problem with this until we pointed it out. What other issues at CRS are the staff not taking issue with that faithful Catholics know are morally repugnant? It’s time for a full-fledged, independent investigation of CRS’s programs and staff.

I’d like to know why, as usual, the USCCB remains silent.

Here’s a thought for you, Mike: Why don’t you mind your own business! Going on a rampage, trying to get this man fired because he is same-sex married strikes me as small-minded, and, really, just an attention-getting stunt on your part.

It is so sad that our church has gotten to this point. The Church that was to lead the way is headed for schism. I read somewhere if we could get 500 people who would follow the true teachings of Jesus Christ from each state we could get a President that we need. but if not we would get the one we deserve. 500 that’s not that many. even 500 clergy but sounds that our clergy are in big trouble and need prayers. This was from an apparition or locution. I don’t remember which on. I think it was on biblical false prophet , not sure. Also Our ladyis asking for a complete rosary to be said everyday for the defeat of same sex marriage in the supreme Court. I believe that was Holy Love. May God have mercy on our fellow man. They just don’t know what they are choosing.
