Just Economics of Western North Carolina
Just Economics has received a total of $125,000 from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) since 2018, including a grant of$50,000 for the 2020-2021 grants cycle.
Though the CCHD claims to have a “rigorous” screening process, CCHD completely missed that Just Economics is heavily involved in the promotion of homosexual and transgender ideologies, is tied in with the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and employs pro-abortion, LGBTQ, Marxist staff members.
In 2015, Just Economics sponsored the “LGBT in the South conference,” a project of the Campaign for Southern Equality. The LGBT in the South website (now defunct) shows Just Economics’ logo on a poster of its sponsors.
Further corroborating this, Just Economics posted on both facebook and Twitter that it was “proud” to sponsor the LGBT in the South conference.
Workshops at the conference covered a wide-variety of advocacy topics from workplace discrimination, public acceptance, “marriage” equality, and “sexuality. But most disturbing of all were workshop topics directed at children (in bold and underlined), clearly looking to groom children in homosexual and transgender ideologies.

By sponsoring this event, Just Economics directly contributed to the LGBTQ grooming of children and helped to advance the dark ideologies of homosexuality and transgenderism.
While this took place in 2015, even now, Just Economics is directly involved in the promotion of these gravely immoral ideologies through its “Living Wage Employer” certification program. Launched by JE in 2008, the stated purpose of this seemingly innocuous program is to “identify and promote local employers that pay a Living Wage.” The benefits of being certified as a “Living Wage Employer” includes “access to Just Economics living wage job board,” and “being part of a growing network of local employers dedicated to building a more sustainable economy.” However, by certifying self-identified LGBTQ organizations, Just Economics becomes an advertising hub for LGBTQ activism, especially considering the other benefits of certification, which are the following:
- Living Wage Certified certificate and window sticker for display at your place of business.
- Special profile of your business on the Just Economics website in our Certified Employer Directory.
- Free promotion of your business through the Just Economics mailing list, Facebook Followers and our printed lists.
- Participation in press conferences and JE events aimed at promoting the Living Wage Employer Certification Program and the employers that meet our criteria.
- Free Participation in our Employer Networking Events and Business Education Programs.
One of the organizations identified in JE’s directory of certified organizations is the Campaign for Southern Equality (CSE), the same organization that coordinated the LGBT in the South conference that Just Economics sponsored in 2015. As on the poster above, the Campaign for Southern Quality states that it “is a non-profit based in Asheville, NC working to promote full equality for LGBT individuals and families across the South.”
JE also certified a group called the AIDS Leadership Foothills Area Alliance (ALFA). The ALFA organization seeks to “improve the lives and health of those affected by HIV/AIDS while preventing transmission through education and testing.”
However, clicking through to the ALFA website, it is immediately apparent that ALFP promotes condoms and homosexuality.
JE also certified and advertises for the First Congregational United Church of Christ, which bills itself on the JE website as “AN LGBT OPEN and AFFIRMING Congregation.”
JE also certified the All Bodies Movement and Wellness organization. The ad on JE’s website indicates that the organization’s mission is to “help folks begin to undo the damage of diet culture and to heal their relationships with their bodies. We do this by helping people create sustainable and accessible movement practices that help them feel better in their bodies so they can do the things that make them happy.”
However, the front page of the All Bodies wesbite states that the organization is ‘queer-owned’ and ‘trans-positive.’
Of course, none of this promotion of homosexual and transgender ideologies comes as any kind of surprise, considering the LGBTQ activism engaged in by the staff of Just Economics from the executive director on down.
Vicki Meath is the executive director of JE and has a background in community organizing. According to the JE’s website, Meath has a long history of community organizing work, including with the Marxist, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ Jobs with Justice.
In March of 2016, Meath posted an event put on by the Campaign for Southern Equality rallying against HB 2, saying, “I stand with Transgender North Carolinians. You are beautiful, you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, you are not alone, and if you need support, there are people here to help.” HB 2 “amended state law to preempt any anti-discrimination ordinances passed by local communities and, controversially, compelled schools and state and local government facilities containing single-gender washrooms to only allow people of the corresponding sex as listed on their birth certificate to use them.”
In July of 2014, Meath shared a shared a Huffington Post article covering the speech given by the mother of a male, 6 year old child who she claims has “transitioned.” Claiming that her little boy started wearing dresses at school at age 4, the mother speaks out against anti-transgender legislation and ideologies. In Meath’s post, she writes “her daughter was a victim of adult bigotry. Sometimes we teach our kids and sometimes we need to let our kids teach us.”
But Meath isn’t the only LGBTQ advocate working for Just Economics. The Housing and Wages Organizer for JE is a man pretending to be a woman, calling himself Claire Clark. Clark’s bio on the JE website indicates that he ” is active in the struggles for LGBTQ liberation and reproductive justice.”
On Clark’s Facebook page, he is very active in promoting socialism, homosexual and transgender ideologies, and abortion. On his likes page, are a number of groups indicating the same:
On October 15, 2021, a video surfaced of Clark disrupting a speech being delivered by Madison Cawthorne. In the video, Clark takes an aggressive posture, as he shouted at Cawthorne demanding an apology to the LGBTQ community and demanding that he “pass the equality act.” Being dragged from the event, Clark could be heard shrieking “equal rights for all, now!”
Less than a month later on Sept 6, 2021, Clark gave a speech at the “Speak Out For Reproductive Freedom” rally, protesting the Supreme Court’s decision to let the Texas abortion ban stand. At the beginning of the speech, Clark directly identifies himself with the Party for Socialism and Liberation before launching into a pro-abortion screed:
“Today I come before you as a transgender woman, here to stand in solidarity with my cisgender sisters, my trans masculine brothers, and my non-binary siblings in the face of the most egregious attack on abortion and Reproductive Rights in decades!
Like a thief in the night, the Supreme Court of the United States, on the word of unelected and unaccountable judges, appointed for Life by bought-and-paid-for politicians, effectively stole away the right of abortion and the right to True bodily autonomy for women, Trans-men and non-binary people. Winning the right to a safe and legal abortion and the right to bodily autonomy was the culmination of three generations of struggle. And the struggle to hold the line on Roe v Wade has consumed the energies of three more generations of feminists and fighters. All that’s gone; vanished overnight!”
Then on May 4, 2022, Clark led an other pro-abortion rally, which drew 100+ demonstrators to Asheville’s Pritchard Park.
As the head of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Clark very actively promotes socialism on line. For instance, in April of 2022, Clark posted this message from the PSL declaring that “socialism works.”
On September 28 of 2022, Clark posted a series of four images produced by PSL. The images promote a piece of socialist fan-fiction asserting what the United States would look like as a socialist country.
The next say, Clark posted an article asking, “What is socialist revolution?”
And given just how closely connected JE’s employee is with a socialist party, it’s not surprising at all to discover that JE has itself, formally partnered with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. In February of 2021, JE announced that it was holding a joint rally with Asheville DSA and Asheville PSL.
Posted on the Just Economics website just a couple of months later, JE admits to partnering with DSA and PSL for a May Day celebration.
JE publicized also this event on facebook with the Marxist call, “Workers of the World, Unite.”
Conclusion
Just Economics is steeped in the promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism as well as socialism. Its website certified and advertises on behalf of several pro-LGBT organizations, including one that distributes condoms. JE’s executive director promotes pro-transgender messages on social media, and its Housing and Wages organizer is a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist who actively promotes abortion and transgenderism. And JE has officially partnered with the pro-abortion, Marxist organizations Democratic Socialists of America and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. There is simply no way the CCHD actually bothered to vet this organization at all, or if it did, it has no problem with any of this.
